There have been so many changes since I went on a hiatus from Twitter and the Internet in general. Coming back now, I am sadden that The Dragonfly Archives is no longer around. However, I can take comfort in knowing that there are archives from way back when that I can still read. It is through your archives that you both have worked so tirelessly to collect, a feat even I cannot imagine I myself would ever do–something I would always appreciate because I found myself among new and old fellow poets and friends! Reading haiku and other forms of poetry daily was a blessing, a delight in all its own because of the work you’ve done.

Thank you sincerely for all that you’ve done for the Twitterworld AND most importantly, for supporting me as a poet because I never thought my work would mean so much to many, many people out there. Thank you so much, and many blessings to you! Good luck in your future endeavors. I know how one must take care of the things in life. As for me, I’m heading for nursing school in the fall so I have lots to do!

I do everything manually. It takes a lot of time, because I am selecting each individual tweet for its content. Each work of poetry I save, I do because I think it is worth preserving, as most of the poetry you read just ends up on Twitter’s cutting room floor, after search expires. Also, it is impossible for everyone to see each work of poetry in the stream, so I take it upon myself to read each days search and collect the best of it and put it in a place people can easily find it. It is a lot of work, but I think it’s worth it.

i like, and appreciate, the way you link to each author’s microblog. I’m curious, are you’re manually curating each tweet, cut-and-paste from Twitter search? Or have you automated your curation, in any way?

All you have to do to participate is to write haiku in the public stream. I do Twitter searches every day to collect what you see. We don’t collect every haiku, just the best we find. To be seen , use these Twitter hashtags – #haiku #senryu #micropoetry #tanka #sixwords #kyoka ~ I will see every public tweet that uses those tags, and select the best ones.

It’s marvellous that you go to all this work to sift through the day’s haiku senryu and general sillyness (on my behalf anyway). This collection should be made into a tomb or a showcase for all to say. I for one wanted to say thank you :)

Looks like all my little dragonflies have escaped into the great beyond . . .

J/K (I’ve preserved them all in a windowed box – pinning them onto a cork-board and labeling them in Latin).

Excellent idea for a blog though, will keep an eye on it!
